Sunburst Shutters Company History: How We Brought Custom Shutters to Philadelphia
Sunburst Shutters was established in the early '70s in Phoenix, AZ, by people who believed they could make a better shutter than any other in America.
The ambition to be the best shutter company has changed every aspect of the window treatment business. Sunburst started offering an in-home consultation where design specialists brought samples into a customer’s house to walk them through selecting the best window treatment product. In addition, Sunburst set out to hire sales staff that were respectful and friendly – and, at the same time, experienced and helpful. Homeowners across the US fell in love with Sunburst Shutters at first sight.
In the '70s, draperies and blinds were the usual window treatments in most homes. That’s when Sunburst Shutters gave consumers a longer lasting and energy-efficient window treatment: plantation shutters.
Initially, the company offered wood shutters only. But it became evident fast that Sunburst should create the ultimate shutter – one that provides superior energy efficiency, and looks as charming 20 years from now as the day you purchased it. After much research, sampling, and testing, Sunburst revealed its Polywood Shutters.
Once Sunburst offered the premium shutters on the market, they grew extensively, opening locations across the US. In 2008, Sunburst Shutters expanded its collection into blinds, shades, draperies, and window film – and changed its name to Sunburst Shutters & Window Fashions.
Now, Sunburst Shutters & Window Fashions offers any treatment for any size or shape of window – all custom-made and professionally installed. With more than 2,000 window treatment choices and options, Sunburst is the absolute source of window treatment products in America.
